Dining

Through its team of four talented chefs, Solitaire Lodge offers world class, New Zealand inspired cuisine which is matched with superb New Zealand wines from the lodge’s extensive cellar. Guests are offered a range of dining experiences, from private dining through to communal dining with fellow guests. The summer months offer superb al fresco dining opportunities on the terrace, in the herb garden and at the jetty. Solitaire’s chefs purchase their produce daily and change their menu daily, offering the freshest possible menu items.

Things to do

The lodge provides an enticing base for all who wish to explore this area of great natural beauty from the lodge’s private beach, jetty or helipad. Explore and bath in the thermal waters of Hotwater Beach a board one of the three luxurious charter vessels on offer. Try your hand at fishing for one of the trophy sized rainbow trout.

Take a helicopter from the Lodge’s helipad to spectacular White Island and explore this active volcano guided by your pilot or why not take a flight to the summit of Mount Tarawera for a glass of champagne between your lunch courses.
 

Enjoy a serene floatplane flight over Rotorua’s spectacular thermal areas. Solitaire Lodge prides itself on being able to offer unique experiences tailored to individual tastes.

Rotorua also offers a range of geo thermal parks to explore and is renowned for its Maori culture. A range of adventure activities are also available in Rotorua including; bungee jumping and zorbing.
