Enjoy a return scenic cruise Queenstown to Walter Peak High Country Farm on board the vintage steamship TSS Earnslaw. Following the 40 minute outward voyage from Queenstown, passengers disembark at Walter Peak High Country Farm where they can experience farming life. There is time to wander through the beautiful lakeside gardens and enjoy tea/coffee and home baking in the Colonel’s Homestead, surrounded by views of the lake and mountains.

Their farm demonstrators take visitors on a walking tour of the farmyard and there is ample opportunity to view the farm animals – sheep, red deer and

Scottish Highland cattle. Highlights of the farming experience are watching the farm demonstrator shear a sheep, and sheep dogs working stock. After the farmyard tour there is still time to do a little shopping at our souvenir shop and view a wool spinning demonstration, before boarding the TSS Earnslaw for the return cruise to Queenstown. Suitable for all ages.

A country style morning or afternoon tea is served in the Colonel’s Homestead with Cheese Scones, pikelets topped with Berry Jam and Cream, Tea, Coffee or Juice (included in the price of the excursion).

A variety of food and beverages are available for purchase on board the TSS Earnslaw from the Promenade Café. Café style food available includes freshly baked home-style pies, quiche, pizza, freshly filled rolls and sandwiches, muffins, slices, assorted cakes and pastries, most baked daily in their galley.
