With its own ahimaa, the traditional pit oven used by locals, Sofitel Bora Bora also features weekly Tahitian Tamaaraa feasts where pork, chicken, fish and vegetables are wrapped in banana leaves and baked for hours on hot stones. Named after Dino Laurentis’ film which starred Mia Farrow (and for which the resort was originally built), Hurricane Bar is the perfect setting for exotic cocktails or alfresco poolside snacks, with theme nights and live entertainment. Things to do

The resort’s unique location by the lagoon makes it the ideal place to relax on the beach and soak up the sun, snorkel amidst the teeming marine life, or enjoy a glass-bottom boat ride. The nearby smaller islands, or motus, provide idyllic spots for private picnics and can easily be explored in a native canoe (pirogue). Another popular activity is the daily shark feeding, with guests safely in the water just a few feet away.
