Dining

Inspiring locations. Meals to savor.

In one of the world’s most stunning locations, Sofitel Bora Bora offers four distinct restaurants and bars, each offering an unforgettable gourmet discovery.

With its own ahimaa, the traditional pit oven used by locals, Sofitel Bora Bora also features weekly Tahitian Tamaaraa feasts where pork, chicken, fish and vegetables are wrapped in banana leaves and baked for hours on hot stones. The feast is accompanied by a local show featuring traditional dancing in colorful costumes and beautiful French Polynesian music.

Latitude 16

Straight from the sea

A paradise of culinary delights, Latitude 16 takes full advantage of the island’s bountiful fare and offers a diverse array of French, international and local dishes.

Inside the décor is inspired by local tribal tattoos, with ironworks representing the local fishermen’s nets. Outside, an extensive deck juts out of the lagoon so guests can watch colorful reef fish swimming by, while the sound of native drums and ukulele fill the air.

Wakaba Japanese Teppanyaki

Sizzling Teppanyaki

An ultra-stylish modern setting for an authentic dining experience with teppanyaki tables, Japanese specialties, fresh sushi and theme menus.

Gleaming stainless steel, natural wood and stone features, combine with the mesmerising spectacle of chefs deftly wielding teppanyaki spatulas as they show off their skills on the hotplate.

Should guests catch any bounty during their fishing excursions, the chefs can prepare this either as sushi or traditional Polynesian dishes.

Hurricane Bar

Evoking Hollywood

Named after Dino Laurentis’ film which starred Mia Farrow (and for which the resort was originally built), Hurricane Bar is the perfect setting for exotic cocktails or alfresco poolside snacks, with theme nights and live entertainment. The stunning bar, inlaid with mosaic tiles in silver and red, sparkling mirrored lights and comfortable red-cushioned chairs, takes in stunning views over the pool on one side and the lagoon on the other.

Things to do

The resort’s unique location by the lagoon makes it the ideal place to relax on the beach and soak up the sun, snorkel amidst the teeming marine life, or enjoy a glass-bottom boat ride. The nearby smaller islands, or motus, provide idyllic spots for private picnics and can easily be explored in a native canoe (pirogue). Another popular activity is the daily shark feeding, with guests safely in the water just a few feet away.

For the more adventurous a range of water sports are offered, including jetskiing, waterskiing and scuba diving.

On land, a 4WD safaris is the perfect way to explore the island, with its secluded bays and scenic hills.

Spread over two overwater bungalows, with outdoor Jacuzzis and five beautifully designed therapy rooms, Le Spa offers a delectable array of massages and beauty treatments for individuals or couples alike.

Tahiti's local plant life and traditional Tahitian techniques are blended with Thalassa therapies to infuse an unparalleled sensation of relaxation and well being for body and soul. Also on offer are world-renowned beauty treatments from an exclusive partnership with Lancôme.
