Phuket ~ a first hand, post-tsunami account When I arrived in Phuket, Thailand yesterday, I was pretty sure that I knew what I would see. And that was -- a country of united people working together to ensure that their lives continued as before last year’s Tsunami.

Certainly, I did see evidence of where the waters came across the beaches along the west coast of this idyllic island, but it is limited to a small area. New “huts” have been built back along the coastline and the locals are present with their colorful tuk tuks (three-wheeled motorized vehicles that serve as taxis) and stands selling all kinds of interesting items including aromatic and delectable foods that infuse the air.
