Transfer Hobart Airport to City Accommodation
Transfer by private vehicle from Hobart Airport to the Henry Jones.
The Henry Jones Art Hotel, 1 Night
Deluxe Spa Harbour View (including buffet breakfast)
The Henry Jones is Australia's first and only dedicated Art hotel. Standing on Hobart's waterfront where Europeans first stepped ashore over 200 years ago, a row of warehouses dating back to the 1820's have been transformed into a first class hotel showcasing the work of Tasmania's finest visual and performing artists. You will be fascinated by the hotels unique combination of antique and the ultra modern, from the original staircase and restored machinery, to the magnificent all-glass atrium. Suites feature natural timber furnishings and a lavish king-size bed with exotic silk covers and ottomans, and an ensuite bathroom of stainless steel and glass. All rooms overlook either the stunning glass atrium or the harbour.
Day 4: Transfer Hobart to Saffire (via MONA)
Transfer by private vehicle from Hobart to Saffire, in the Coles Bay area. A stop will be made at MONA (Museum of Old and New Art) for up to two hours, en route to Saffire.
The Museum of Old and New Art (MONA) opened January 2011 and is an art museum located within the Moorilla Winery on the Berriedale Peninsula just outside Hobart. It is the largest privately funded museum in Australia, presenting antiquities, plus modern and contemporary art from David Walsh’s private collection. MONA aims to shock and offend, as well as challenge, inform and entertain. This freedom is arguably MONA's greatest virtue. In David's own estimation, his collecting is obsessive. At MONA, he has the luxury of creating his ideal amalgam of everything he enjoys most in other museums he has visited around the world: a cross section of art that is driven by polemics as much as aesthetics.
