Day 2 Cross The International Dateline
Day 3 Arrive Melbourne
On arrival into Melbourne you will need to clear customs and make your way through the main arrivals hall from where you will be met and transferred by private vehicle to your hotel.
At first glance, Melbourne may resemble any other modern city with its skyline full of concrete and glass. However, if you look a little closer, you’ll find the real Melbourne, a city of unique charm. There are the clanging trams (street cars), swanky boutiques, friendly taxi drivers, Australian Rules Football, fickle weather and ‘BYOB’s’, by the hundreds.
Days 4-6 At leisure, Melbourne
At your leisure to explore the very cosmopolitan city of Melbourne. The many attractions of the city vary from the spectacular parklands and gardens that surround the city, to the museums and festivals that are a continuing part of the city life. Excellent restaurants are on every corner and cater for every taste in the world.
Day 7 Drive Melbourne to Port Fairy
Depart Melbourne and head for the coastal village of Lorne and the start of the Great Ocean Road. The scenic coastline from Lorne to Apollo Bay has been said to be one of the most beautiful and breathtaking drives in the world. The winding road hugs the jagged coast and allows for numerous stopovers to capture the scenes on film. The main township of Apollo Bay, known as The Paradise by the Sea, is a major fishing centre with a safe harbour, long sandy beaches, meandering rivers and mountainous hinterland.
From Apollo Bay, drive through the lush rainforest of the Otway Ranges to the notorious Shipwreck Coast, where huge rolling waves crash relentlessly, carving cliffs, caverns and rock into strange and spectacular shapes, like the famous Twelve Apostles. The scenery is paralleled for breathtaking beauty and natural savagery. Continue through Warrnambool and onto the rustic fishing village of Port Fairy, nestled along the picturesque Moyne River. The history of this quaint township can still be seen while strolling past the old bluestone walls and attractive stone cottages.
Day 8 Drive Port Fairy to Coonawarra
From Port Fairy, continue on towards Portland. This section is known as 'the Discovery Coast'. Rugged isolated beaches, huge white sand dunes, towering cliffs, tranquil rivers, national parks, fascinating wildlife and a colourful history make the Discovery Coast and Hinterland a must-see destination. The region covers Portland – site of Victoria's first permanent white settlement and now the commercial centre – to Nelson in the west and Casterton in the north.
Cross the South Australian border and continue to Mt Gambier, location of the famous Blue Lake. From here, continue to the wine country.
Day 9 At leisure, Coonawarra
Today is at your leisure, no arrangements have been made.
Day 10 Drive Coonawarra to Adelaide
At your leisure (4-5hrs drive), but allow most of the day to take in the sights. Your best route is straight along the Dukes Highway and across the River Murray via Murray Bridge and over the Adelaide Hills to Adelaide City! The distance of your trip today is 207 miles.

Day 11 Aboriginal Cultural Experience
Join your Aboriginal Tour Guide on a trip around Adelaide for an enjoyable and informative tour. Learn about the local Adelaide area and the social history of early Aboriginal life. Explore cultural environments, taste native bush-foods, learn about Australian animals and have hands on experiences.
Start the day with a leisurely stroll around the Botanic Gardens to learn about Aboriginal bush foods and plant uses. Discover traditional duck hunting techniques, various food gathering practices and where to find bush medicines. Enjoy the great tastes of the Australian outback and sample some native bush food products for morning tea within the beautiful surrounds of the Botanic Gardens.
We then take a short walk to see the Aboriginal Cultures Gallery at the South Australian Museum. The Gallery showcases the largest collection of Australian Aboriginal artefacts and archival material in the world with over 3,000 items on display in an accessible, interactive setting.
Next, we head to Adelaide's East End - Rundle Street East is Adelaide's Cosmopolitan centre and a part of the historic East of Adelaide. It's full of cafes, hotels, restaurants and small interesting shops – lunch is included here, though drinks are at your own expense today. After lunch we take a short walk to Tandanya National Aboriginal Cultural Institute for a walk through the Aboriginal art gallery. Enjoy a didgeridoo demonstration and visit the retail shop with a large range of Aboriginal artefacts, artwork, books and gifts.
Day 12 Kangaroo Island Adventure
Fly to Kangaroo Island where you are met by a naturalist guide. Tour in style with a small group in a 4WD air-conditioned vehicle, starting the tour at Cygnet River & Lathami Conservation Park. Enjoy a delicious seafood BBQ lunch with local wine. Walk with your guide amongst an Australian Sea- lion colony at Seal Bay Conservation Park.
This afternoon, visit Gantheaume Conservation Park, including D'Estres Bay where ospreys nest and kangaroos come out to feed late in the afternoon. From here, transfer to the airport for your return flight to Adelaide.
Lunch is included today, as well as National Parks and Wildlife Service admission fees and round trip airfare from Adelaide.
Day 13 AdelaideMarkets and Barossa Valley
The day unfolds with an early start as you tour and taste your way through the irresistibly fresh Adelaide Central Market. Your guided tour will peel away the many secrets of the Market whilst exposing the senses to an array of unusual, exotic and bizarre aromas and taste sensations. Surrounded by all the mayhem, you’ll enjoy a classic Market breakfast as stall holders go about setting up for another ravenous day.
Departing the city, driving through the stunning Torrens Gorge, we have ample time to relax and enjoy the passing countryside in anticipation of the pleasurable experiences yet to come. Arriving in the Barossa will reveal a strong presence of European culture and tradition along with gnarled and twisted vines dating back to the 1840’s. With a warmer climate, the valley favors medium to full bodied wines with Shiraz the preferred red. Throughout the day, savor wines of distinction at the best of the regions boutique style wineries, with a new and rewarding experience for you to uncover at each cellar door. The Barossa is also rich in local produce which is reflected with a sumptuous lunch, at a character winery restaurant.
Moving from the modern to the traditional, the historic Seppelt Winery is an impressive facility. A tour takes you behind-the-scenes and into the heritage listed Seppelt Family homestead and vintage cellars, where barrels of wine continue to age gracefully. Your privileged entry provides a tutored tasting of super premium and fortified wines not normally accessible to cellar door patrons. Stimulating in every way, this is your chance to taste 'liquid history' when you appraise a rare 100 year old port. Connoisseur or not, this is a perfect finish to any day…You be the Judge!
