Noosa and Brisbane
Noosa
| |
 |
Noosa is known for integrating the natural and built environments to provide visitors with the sense that they have arrived in paradise. Although this is not to say that modern amenities and top restaurants that the discerning traveler of today expects are absent from the equation!
Noosa attractions include fine dining, plenty of water-based activities, quaint hinterland mountain villages, national parks and some excellent shopping opportunities. The Noosa district encompasses a string of connected towns, including Noosaville, and Tewantin.
Noosa Heads, which incorporates the canal estate of Noosa Sound, the Hastings Street area, exclusive Little Cove and Noosa Hill, borders the pretty Laguna Bay. Noosa National Park, the town’s pride and joy, is adjacent to the town. Nearby Noosa Junction has supermarkets, shopping complexes and a cinema center. Sunshine Beach, to the south of Noosa National Park, is an exclusive beachside town with a small shopping center, some top restaurants and a surf lifesaving club.
The Noosa River has almost 25 miles of navigable waterways. Bordering the river, and next to Noosa Heads, the township of Noosaville has lots of cafés, restaurants, and boat hire establishments. All kinds of watercraft can be found on the river and cruises depart from Noosa Harbour Market Town. The nearby town of Tewantin, the administrative hub of the region, has the interesting Noosa Regional Gallery and is the access point for trips to the north shore and Fraser Island.
