Day 1
Fly USA to Johannesburg

Board your overnight flight to South Africa.

Day 2
Arrive Johannesburg

Upon arrival into Johannesburg, you will be met and assisted to the awaiting vehicle.  Transfer to the Sunnyside Park Hotel and check in – spend the remainder of the afternoon and evening at leisure.

Day 3
Tour – Soweto and Pretoria

This morning, enjoy breakfast at the hotel before you are collected for your full day of touring through Soweto and Pretoria.

First stop is Soweto – acronym for South Western Township, is home to over 2 million people who, despite living in crowded and chaotic conditions, have a tangible sense of community, which the ordered walled northern suburbs lack. Visit the Hector Peterson Museum – discovering the cause of the riots, then pass the Mandela House, with the option to visit this small museum (own account). Visit Regina Mondi Church, the site of many underground meetings for the then banned political parties.

Following lunch (own account) continue to Pretoria for a tour of South Africa’s Capital city. An exploration of imposing museums and monuments, dedicated to tracing South Africa's extraordinary history. Pretoria is also known as the 'Jacaranda City', for its beautiful purple lined streets when the jacaranda trees are in full bloom. Visit the Voortrekker Monument, a memorial to the early settlers then Kruger Museum – private residence of President Paul Kruger of the old Transvaal Republic. Following this, visit Church Square, surrounded by buildings dating back to the turn-of-the-century. Finally visit The Union Buildings – an architectural masterpiece and scene of Nelson Mandela's emotional inauguration as president in 1994.

Return to your hotel in the late afternoon and spend the evening at leisure.

Day 4
Travel Johannesburg to Pilanesberg Game Reserve

This morning, enjoy an early breakfast before you check out and meet your driver in the hotel lobby. Board the scheduled shuttle service to Sun City / Pilanesberg – driving time from Johannesburg to Pilanesberg is approximately 2.5 hours.  Check into Kwa-Maritane and spend some time at leisure before you head out this afternoon on a game drive within the Pilanesberg Game Reserve.

Return to the Lodge later this afternoon for dinner and overnight.

Day 5
Pilanesberg Game Reserve

This morning, it’s up early for your morning game drive with the Pilanesburg National Park.  Return to the lodge and spend the remainder of the day at leisure.

Day 6
Fly Johannesburg to Cape Town

This morning, enjoy breakfast at the lodge before you check out and meet your driver in the hotel lobby.  Transfer back to Johannesburg airport in time to connect with your early afternoon flight to Cape Town. Upon arrival into Cape Town, you will be met and transferred to the Portswood Hotel – check in and spend the remainder of the afternoon and evening at leisure.

Day 7
Tour – Cape Peninsula

This morning, enjoy an early breakfast at the hotel before you are collected for your full day of touring along the Cape Peninsula.  See for yourself how this spectacular southern tip of Africa became known as the 'Fairest Cape'.  Drive past Camps Bay, Clifton and Llandudno - 'millionaire's paradise' then visit Hout Bay and harbour with a Seal Island Cruise (own account & subject to weather).

Following your Seal Island Cruise, enjoy the picturesque drive along Chapman's Peak Drive and Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve. Following lunch (own account) head to the Naval port of Simon's Town and visit the Penguin colony at Boulder's Beach.

Return to your hotel in the late afternoon and spend the evening at leisure.

Day 8
Tour – Cape Winelands

This morning, enjoy an early breakfast at the hotel before you are collected for your full day of touring along the Cape Winelands. This is a whole day dedicated to the indulgence and splendour of Africa's premier wine region. Enjoy fabulous vistas from the Taal Monument near Paarl.  Visit the Huguenot Monument in Franschhoek – a gourmet's paradise. Enjoy a drive over Helshoogte Mountain Pass before enjoying strolling through stunning Stellenbosch.

Return to your hotel in the late afternoon and spend the evening at leisure.

Day 9
Fly Cape Town to USA (Via Johannesburg)

Today, spend some time at leisure before you check out and transfer to Cape Town airport to connect with your scheduled flight to Johannesburg. Upon arrival into Johannesburg, make your way to the International Departures Hall to connect with your scheduled flight to the U.S.
