Originally hailing from Melbourne Australia, I first joined Swain as a
student in 2005 working as a travel consultant selling my homeland and our
neighbours New Zealand and the South Pacific Islands. After finishing my
business degree in 2007 I returned to Swain to continue to travel myself and
also continue to share my experience and love of travel with others.
Whilst I’m an Aussie born and raised New Zealand is one of my favourite
destinations… everywhere you look is a picturesque postcard and they have
some of the most thrilling experiences from bungee jumping to scenic
helicopter flights with glacier landings (the later I have experienced… more
my speed than jumping 440 ft off a bridge). Even better is the amazing food
and wine New Zealand has to offer whilst staying at some of the most
luxurious and perfectly situated lodges! Favourite place of all time to stay
you ask? Wharekauhau Lodge (pronounced Forry Ko Ho) situated near
Wellington, on a windy overcast day it looks like a scene from Wuthering
Heights and is situated just back from a stunning black sand beach.
Favourite restaurant? Inspire restaurant in Queenstown – perfect for foodies
or anyone who wants to treat themselves to an amazing ten course degustation
menu – definitely a culinary journey of New Zealand flavours!
Still nothing beats being at home… so if you are ever in Melbourne take a
road trip down the Great Ocean Road for a day or two, grab some fish & chips
in one of the local towns and have lunch on the beach... perfect!
